  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar ½ cup chopped black walnuts
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter (melted)


Take a bowl and cream together the shortening, butter and sugar till it becomes light. Beat in the eggs and add flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Pour and stir into the creamed mixture. Later stir in vanilla extract, walnuts and pour into the pan. Bake the cake for two hours at 350 degree F. Let the cake completely cool down. And then place it onto a wire rack to let it cool. Your Black Walnut Cake is ready to serve.
