This coffee cake is going to be easy and quick to prepare for your guest, while it gives the look like you baked all day, plus the aroma of brown sugar and butter will fill your kitchen. Use pecans or walnuts in the topping or omit them, according to your taste. Just enjoy!

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1tsp vanilla


  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Mix all cake ingredients together and pour into buttered pan.

In a separate bowl, cut ½ cup butter into the size of peas, distribute over cake.

Place nuts over the top of the butter.

Sprinkle brown sugar to cover.

Sprinkle cinnamon over top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out mostly clean.
