These buttermilk hotcakes are from my very old family collection of recipes. They are a real part of the “comfort food” section. They can be served with whatever is your favorite topping. Once you have them you are going to want more.
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serves : 3
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 ¼ cup buttermilk
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
1. Beat egg whites in a small bowl, set aside.
2. Beat egg yokes and sugar together.
3. Add melted butter, buttermilk, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, mix well into.
4. Fold in egg whites.
5. Drop onto greased griddle by ½ cup fulls.
6. Fry until hotcake bubbles, then turn and cook the other side until it is golden brown.
7. Buttermilk Hotcakes is ready to serve.
