This is truly a decadent coffee cake. The flavor combination of apples, sour cream, brown sugar, and cinnamon give this recipe a superb treat to the taste buds. This recipe makes two small 8 inch coffee cakes, but you can make one large cake if you like. With either, cook until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Ingredients
CAKE
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 ½ chopped, peeled apples
TOPPING
- ¾ brown sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. butter
- ½ cup chopped pecans
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, butter and flour pans.
2. Mix the butter and sugar together, until fluffy.
3. Add in the eggs, vanilla.
4. Stir in one at a time the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sour cream, stirring after each.
5. Stir in the apples.
6. Pour batter into two baking pans.
7. For topping, cut butter into sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
8. Sprinkle over the cakes.
9. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
10. Apple Coffee Cake is ready to serve.
